PURPOSE
The purpose of the Credit Recovery Program is to provide an opportunity for students to earn credits in subjects that were unsuccessfully mastered or were never taken. Students participating in this program will be assigned units in an Odysseyware online program that mirrors the materials in which the student is missing a credit. Once students complete this program, a report will be sent to the principal for grade determination and report card posting.
ENROLLMENT CRITERIA
Credit Recovery during the academic school year is only available under one of the following circumstances:
Seniors in need of credits for graduation. (A student must have earned 18 credits to be classified as a senior.)
Students who transfer from another school district in need of credits because of differences in graduation requirements. (Requires principal approval)
Catastrophic/programming need (Requires principal approval)
SCHEDULING
Your child has the opportunity to participate in our Credit Recovery Program for recovery needed in a grading period. This program may be scheduled into a period class during the school day or may be worked on after school with approval from virtual school director/administration.
FEES
The FEE for each recovery class is $40.00 for each class enrollment. A deposit must be paid toward this fee before a student can begin participation in the program. Upon completion of a course, the fee must be paid in full before grade will be posted to transcript.
CONDITIONS
The Pell City High School Credit Recovery Program exists for students that have a sincere desire to utilize this opportunity to redeem academic credit. Students are expected to follow the school rules while participating in this program.
