ABOUT THE TOUR
Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. Oudtshoorn is home to the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders sculptured by nature through the ages. 29km from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the picturesque Cango Valley, lie the spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. Situated on a limestone ridge parallel to the well-known Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns with vast halls and towering formations. Tours depart every hour on the hour and are led by experienced, knowledgeable, and accredited Caves Guides. The next stop is at the Ostrich Farm. Enjoy a fun-filled, interactive ostrich farm experience. Take a ride on the only Ostrich Tractor Safari in South Africa to view the Kenyan (Massai) ostrich, Zimbabwean Blue, and South African Ostriches. During this unforgettable experience, you will learn more about these remarkable birds and their fascinating nature. Your guide will explain every aspect of ostrich farming, from breeding to rearing. Enjoy a farm lunch before you depart. An elephant feeding experience and interaction is a highlight of this tour.

ABOUT THE TOUR
The Featherbed Nature Reserve, situated on the Western Head in Knysna, is the premier eco-experience on the Garden Route. A trip on the Knysna Lagoon is a must for first-time visitors and locals alike. Depart from Featherbed Ferry Terminus for a four-hour eco-experience to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. This experience includes a return ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head. A 4x4 vehicle will drive up the headland to the Reserve, where you will overlook spectacular viewpoints. Learn about the history, fauna and flora. After a guided walk, enjoy a buffet lunch outdoors. After lunch, return to the mainland for leisure time to explore the quaint town with its many arts and craft shops. View the sites at Belvidere Estate and the Holy Trinity Church to end your Best of Knysna tour. This wonderful family outing is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Travel from George after our conference and head towards Hermanus. On route, we will stop in Mossel Bay for a Gin tasting and orientation of Mossel Bay. Our guide will give us the history of Mosselbay and point out items of interest. Our next stop will be the aloe factory in Albertinia. We continue to Swellendam where we enjoy lunch in one of the historic old jails. We continue to Hermanus, where we enjoy a walk alongside the cove and visit the many curious shops. This is a magical little town with a rich and vibrant history. We overnight at the Lord Charles Hotel in Stellenbosch. Dinner at the hotel

Today we visit many wine farms and do some tasting. Of course, we will be able to purchase some of the finest wines in South Africa for home-taking. We visit Lazerac, Cape Dutch style, with a modernized cellar, and then we visit the oldest wine cellar in South Africa called Murati. We visit JC Leroux for a chocolate pairing with sparkling wine and visit Ernie Else wine farm with a cellar tour and trophy room. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the wine farms through cheese platters and canapés. Overnight at the Cullinan Hotel in Cape Town. Dinner at “The Grand Restaurant”.

After breakfast, we travel for the day to Cape Point. We visit the Penguin Sanctuary in Simons Town, Cape Point, the most Southwestern Point of Africa, visit to Hout Bay with a boat ride to Seal Island, routing back to Cape Town via the scenic drive past Camps Bay. Overnight at Cullinan Hotel. Dinner will be at “The Gold Restaurant”.

After breakfast, we check out and visit the Waterfront and take a ride up to Table Mountain with the cable car and Bo Kaap. Our tour ends with a farewell at the Cape Town International Airport for your flight back home.
