If selected, you will be part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team representing NWU. This is not a passive project; it requires active participation and collaboration.
1. Work as part of a team
Collaborate with students from different disciplines (tourism, IT, engineering, geography, marketing) to solve a real tourism challenge.
2. Attend regular in-person sessions
You must be available for consistent meetings, discussions, and workshops on the Potchefstroom campus.
3. Help develop a real solution
Together, the team will:
Design an innovative tourism concept
Build a basic prototype or model
Develop a short business case
Prepare a professional pitch
These are key outputs expected in the Summit process.
4. Contribute actively (not just attend)
You are expected to:
Share ideas
Take responsibility for tasks
Meet deadlines
Engage critically and creatively
5. Commit for the full duration
The project runs from May to October 2026, culminating in the national Summit.
6. Represent NWU at the national level
You will present your work at the Student-Led Tourism Innovation Summit, competing against other universities.
This is an opportunity, but also a serious commitment. You are effectively part of a student innovation lab, where your work could move beyond theory into real-world application and potential industry adoption.
