With the proliferation of Virtual Reality technologies, learning in the 21st century has become a multi-sensory endeavor, where learners expect not just to know and “feel” the content, but must find the content relevant to their immediate contexts. While the nature of simulated environments may be engaging in nature, what truly captivates learners is the ability to adapt such technologies in creating a learning environment which are contextual to their workplace.
We would explore use cases to generate some ideas on the affordances of VR technologies to support teaching and learning.
Look forward to an “hands-on” experience which includes the creation of 360 images or video using 360 camera and customization of simulated tours using functions( annotation and insertion of voice overs/ambient music) in Google Tour Creator.
This workshop is for you if you are a student-teacher keen on exploring ideas to make teaching in the 21st century a more exciting and engaging endeavour.

The 21st century is marked as a generation where knowledge is made widely available with the ubiquitous nature of the internet. As such, it seems that students can easily find the information they need at their fingertips. However, research shows that there is a limit to knowledge gathering, and thus collaborative learning is required to cultivate the much-needed knowledge skills).
In this workshop, students-teachers will learn how to create collaborative learning environments for their students by using technological affordances such as Google G Suite tools - Google sites and classroom. These skills can be adapted across various subjects from Science to even History, at different levels from Primary to Tertiary. With these etools, it strengthens the collaborative nature of learning within virtual spaces where there is a healthy dose of discussion and idea sharing.
