My final demonstration at Iligan City National High School took place on May 16, 2023. Prior to the lesson, the planning and preparation for the activity that would accompany it should be integrated with the learning objectives. Due to a technical issue and the demonstration starting late in the classroom, it turned out to be pretty bad. The performance must continue, though. A warm welcome was given to the students to begin. The norms of the classroom, which include taking up any papers that are on the floor and sitting appropriately, are then followed. I was quite aback by how well-behaved and attentive my students were to my instructions. When I verified their attendance after the rules to see who was/wasn't in class, it turned out that everyone was there. The preliminary actions ended there.
I offered an activity before the lesson proper to get their minds working on ideas for the lesson I need to teach and how they might apply it to their groups. "What color I am?" was the name of the activity, and the rules were as follows: each student was given a candy, the teacher posted a song for everyone to sing, and as they were singing, each student passed their candy to the next person, whose color corresponded to their group. In accordance with the color of the candy, the students moved to their appropriate groups. I practiced the art of questioning in relation to the subject for assessment. I enquire as to how evenly the candy was distributed among each group. Each group answered to their observations that the candy was evenly distributed among the ten members and that each person had their own candy. What do you think about our activity, I ask again, and someone raises their hand and replies, "I think the activity tells about deciles sir since it was well-distributed into ten equal parts." I then commended the student for answering the question bravely by applauding.
I think I can start the lesson about deciles for grouped data now that I have their feedback on the task. For grouped data, the deciles are values, which divide the total frequency into ten equally spaced portions. The formula () is used to get the following deciles position for grouped data. On the other side, the formula can be used to determine the appropriate decile's value. I've given an example to demonstrate the formulas, and I'll be the one to offer the answer so they can see how to solve the necessary decile. The students will next be given a different assignment to complete in order to evaluate their problem-solving skills.
Students truly understood the lesson, which was wonderful. I have therefore offered a group activity. Each group has presented a problem.
Unfortunately, the permitted time has been consumed, and the other group's presentation is no longer able to cater. Then I concluded the class and reminded everyone about the next meeting.
