Services Offered
In addition to student advocacy and family engagement activities, Migrant Ed has developed and implemented a variety of programs catered to the needs of our students to ensure all migratory children reach challenging academic standards and overcome barriers while successfully transitioning to postsecondary life.
This program works to improve family literacy and student reading outcomes by providing great access to materials like books, remote enrichment kits, summer reading program, and PRE-K kits.
Migrant Ed has a variety of programs established to support the needs of our students including Migrant Ed Academic Coaching! Our student’s academic success is very important to us. We provide school supplies, tutoring, GED support, credit recovery, and School Bunch.
Teen Toolbox includes Credit Recovery, GED Prep, SAT/SAT Prep, Lifeguard and CPR training, CTE courses, support for out-of-school youth, Jump Start College Classes, Close Up, Safe Sitter, post-secondary resources for seniors, and Driver’s Ed.
Due to the nature of Migratory Student activities, Survival Skills includes special trainings for cold water safety, kids don’t float, swimming lessons, and outdoor survival.
Our Explorer program includes local, statewide, and national workshops with The Center for Alaska Coastal Studies, The Challenger Learning Center, The Kenai Watershed Forum, The Kenai Wildlife Refuge and, The Alaska Educational Resource Center.
