My name is Alyssa Graham and I am excited to be a part of the SJI School Counseling Team! I am entering my 24th year as a school counselor, working in K-12 settings. I strive to provide support in all areas to assist students in developing positive mindsets, resilience, and productivity. I grew up in Eastern TN.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, my M.Ed, and my Ed. Specialist Degree in School Counseling from the University of South Carolina. I am a National Board Certified Teacher in School Counseling (NBCT). I am also certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF).
I love spending time with my husband, Christopher (Instrumental Music at SJI) and our daughter, Shelby (6th grader, attending SJI). We enjoy going to the beach, boating, Brookgreen Gardens, and other fun family activities. Now we will go to school/work together. We have a puppy (Sadie), a cockatiel (Samson) and fish.
Hey, friends! I'm Ms. Hadley-Theobald but Sharks can call me Ms. H. I have been at SJI since 2019 and have been a school counselor since 2018. I first moved to Myrtle Beach in 2007 and attended Carolina Forest High School. I went to college at Coastal Carolina University here at the beach where I studied psychology and creative writing while working in their Office of Admissions and Merit Awards. Afterwards, I moved upstate to attend Winthrop University to earn my master's in counseling so I could obtain my dream job--this one! I am also a national certified counselor (NCC) and have completed Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) training. I love hearing about my students' interests and aspirations and working with them to succeed in and outside of school. When I'm not at work, I spend lots of time reading, watching shows and movies, hanging out with friends, and snuggling with my French bulldog, Layla Bug. I am honored to continue serving the students of SJI. This year will be one to remember!
This will be my second year as a St. James shark! I have an M.Ed. in Counseling and certification through the NBCC. I know my 29 years of experience will help me make an impact with my new students. I love dogs and spending time with my husband of 20 years.
I was born and raised in Grenville, South Carolina. I attended the University of South Carolina where I studied criminal justice and earned my master's in vocational rehabilitation counseling from South Carolina State University. I have been a counselor in Horry County Schools since 2005 and have been at SJI since it opened its doors in 2017.
When I'm not at work, I spend time with my family, including my wife, sons, and granddaughter. We often meet up to enjoy a meal together before competing in card and board games. I love watching movies at home or going to the theater.
I was born in Birmingham, England, joined the USAF after high school and was stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB. I met my beautiful South Carolina bride in the early 90’s and now we have three children and seven young grandchildren! I have been a special needs teacher for the last 22 years and am now greatly enjoying working with the young Sharks. I love the Lord, spending time with my family, and the outdoors.
