This initial submission is expected to be a COMPETITION READY Project - not a "first draft". This project could be worth up to 2000XP (but most will be less...).
Use the Category Rubric guides in the links above to see the requirements for the final project. The Annotated Bibliography and the Process Paper will also be due with the Initial Project Submission but will be graded individually.

There is no maximum or minimum number of sources. A good Annotated Bibliography will have around 30 or 40 sources, have a balance of primary and secondary sources, and have a balance in the types of secondary sources (websites, books, articles, references) and primary sources (pictures, documents, quotes, etc...)
Each citation MUST HAVE:
- an annotation that explains how the source was used and how it helped you understand the topic.
The project MUST be seperated into Primary and Secondary Sources.

All categories, except historical paper, must include a process paper with the entry. It must describe in 500 or fewer words how you conducted your research and created your entry. The process paper must include four sections that explain:
- how you chose your topic;
- how you conducted your research;
- how you selected your presentation category and created your project;
- how your project relates to the NHD theme.

Each Category has slightly different Title Page Requirements. Model your title page on those listed below. You cannot embellish the page with borders or graphics. The Website Category does not require a title page.

- Minimum 10 secondary sources AND 10 Primary sources. Secondary can be books, articles, documentaries, reference materials, websites BUT must not be overly reliant on one type of secondary source. MUST INCLUDE:
- Citation (either Tiburon/Chicago or MLA format)
- A Short Explanation answering the questions - “How you intend to use the source and/or How the source helped you understand the topic.”
Bonus (Double XP): Include Cornell Notes Research Notes for each source.
- One Source per page.
- Citation at the top of the page.
- Quality notes about the source on the page.
- Summary on the page answering the “How you intend to use the source and/or How the source helped you understand the topic.”
