Tryouts

Dates to remember:

Tryouts - (May 19-23rd 3:45-5pm) with Judging day on (May 24th 3:45-until) (students will find out via text if they made the team)
Intent Forms must be signed and returned by May 19th to try out.
Physicals MUST be on file before a student will be allowed to attend tryouts (If a student comes and does not have their physical, they will be sent to the office to call for someone to pick them up.) Physicals must be dated after April 1st, 2023 to be valid.
Student must have a 2.0 GPA or higher in order to try out.

Criteria for Judging:

Group Cheer
Group Dance
Individual Spirit
Toe touch, Hurdler

Dress Code for Tryouts:

Training days are (May 19-23rd) - wear shorts (athletic, form fitting, not too short, and not briefs) and a t-shirt (no tank tops, no sleeveless, no mid-riff showing), athletic tennis shoes, hair must be pulled up in a ponytail (not 1/2 up, all of it), NO JEWELRY
Anyone who does not come prepared with the proper attire will sit out during the training
(Judging day is Friday May 24th) - show school spirit with school colors while still sticking to the general dress code

On Judging day, once the student has tried out, they are to leave the building and be picked up by their ride. I usually go in alphabetical order. Time will depend on how many try out. Students will receive their results via text msg. Good Luck!

Behavior during Try Outs:

All students are to go directly to the training area upon bus rider dismissal.
Directions for changing will be given on the announcements.
No playing around, goofing off, or disrespect will be tolerated.
Give it your full effort. Show off how hard you are willing to work.
Try everything and SMILE. Not everyone can jump the highest but a smiling face can get you farther than you think :)
Have a can do and team attitude. Cheer isn't a "me" sport, it is a "we" sport.
Any student who presents misconduct during tryouts will be asked to leave immediately.
