Sunfield Stallion Choir rehearsals are held on Monday afternoons afterschool from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM. A schedule of rehearsals and concerts will be given out to families during the Choir Informational Meeting. For a digital copy, please contact Mr. Vazquez via email at vazquezriverag@hayscisd.net
A choir is a musical ensemble of singers. Students will be learning new music in unison, or one-part, or in multiple parts to create harmony. Furthermore, students learn all about the proper way of singing using proper breath and appropriate posture. Choir is a great way to builds students confidence and self-esteem within a group environment!
Yes and No. Parents and Guardians must notify Mr. Vazquez 24 hours in advance of any absence for it to be counted as an excused absence. Students will still have to catch up during the next rehearsal in order to be successful in our ensemble. If a student has one unexcused absence, Mr. Vazquez will contact the parents with regards to why the student missed rehearsal. Choir is under a three-strike policy in which three (3) unexcused absences will result in the student's removal of the ensemble and will be asked to come back the following semester. No. Hays CISD Honor Choir is a separate entity. Comprised of 4th through 8th graders from all over our district, Honor Choir is an auditioned-based ensemble that meets from 5:30-6:30pm. The auditions for this ensemble have passed for the 2023-2024 school year. If you have any further questions, reach out to Co -Director(s) Savannah Cervantez, Selena Valdez and/or Gustavo Vazquez Rivera.
Nope! This is the perfect time to learn what choir is. As I tell my students, "We're in school learn! If we already know what we're learning, why be in school?" All skills needed in choir has already been taught by myself in Music specials.
