Pfluger Elementary Counseling

My name is Xochitl Gamas, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new Counselor at Pfluger Elementary School. I strongly believe that all students are capable of learning and succeeding with proper guidance and support from caring adults. Therefore, I am committed to promoting the social-emotional and academic success of our students through positive relationships, and the implementation of an effective counseling program. I am blessed to be working with a great leadership team at Pfluger, Mrs. Lara, Mr. Snead, and Mrs. Zimmerman, as all of us share the same passion for student growth and success.

I earned my Master of Science in Professional School Counseling from Angelo State University, and my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance from the University of Texas at Austin. This is my 11th year in education and my first year in Hays CISD. Last year, I was a Counselor in Hutto ISD, and I previously taught Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Dance in Austin ISD and Round Rock ISD.

I recently moved to Kyle with my fiancé Chris. We have four children ages 14, 17, 18, and 23, and three adorable dogs.
