Parent Options Regarding Library Materials

As a parent in Hays CISD, you have several ways to guide your child’s reading choices:

• Library Parent Portal - Click HERE to access the portal to find materials that are checked out to your student or restrict titles. Click HERE for instructions on how to access the parent portal. 

• Schedule a Meeting – Meet with your child’s teacher, librarian, or principal to discuss library materials. In many cases, a direct conversation is sufficient to resolve any issues that may arise.

• Submit a Reconsideration Request – If you believe a material is inappropriate, even after an informal meeting, you may pursue a formal reconsideration.
