Hays CISD school libraries follow the School Library Program Standards and Guideline for Texas.
To become a Texas and Hays CISD school librarian, candidates are required to have a minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience, complete a school librarian certification program, earn a Master’s degree, and pass the librarian certification exam.
Please reach out to your student’s librarian or campus administrator to share your concerns. In many cases, a direct conversation is sufficient to resolve the issue. However, if you prefer to pursue a formal challenge, you can contact the campus administrator. If concerns remain after an informal review of the material, please fill out the Request for Reconsideration form available through your child’s campus principal. After submission, the campus administrator will assess the request and contact you with details about the next steps in the reconsideration process.
