My name is Mrs. Becky Donnaud (pronounced Don-o) and I love orchestra! I have been playing the cello since the 5th grade and knew at a that age that I wanted to teach music! I graduated from Valdosta State University in 1998 with a bachelor's in Music Education with an emphasis in orchestra.

Teaching orchestra is amazing! I consider myself lucky to be able to do what I love in life. It's great to wake up and be excited to go to work, because work and play go together. One of the things that I truly look forward to are some of my "favorite moments". Some of my favorites are: 1st day of orchestra, students play their first song, students master a technique that they have been working hard on, watching a child be inspired and then inspiring others, parents see their child's first concert and continue to be amazed at their level of growth with each passing performance opportunity, seeing my returning students and meeting new ones, learning the person behind the instrument and the families of those people.

Having the opportunity to get to know my students for 3 years is a true gift and I delight in their different personalities. We are like one big orchestra family and I love it!

The musical journey starts when they walk through the door. From there anything is possible.

I look forward to this year with you. Welcome to the SMS Orchestra Family!
