We have a very large group of students this year! To keep everyone safe, please be sure to adhere to the following guidelines when bringing students to rehearsals:
Parents may drop off students in the bus lane between 7:35-7:50.
If you arrive before 7:35, please wait in your car with your student until we open the doors. Our office staff is unable to supervise students who are dropped off before 7:35.
Please pull up all the way to the end of the overhang to keep traffic flowing.
If you arrive after 7:50, please park in the lot closest to E Jones Bridge Rd and walk with your student to the front doors.
Please know that only members of Simpson Singers will be able to enter the building before the bell rings at 8:20 (no younger siblings).
September 20th, 9:30-10:30
We will be kicking off the performance year at the Peachtree Corners Festival on Saturday, September 20th. Simpson Singers will perform the National Anthem to open the festival, followed by a short performance of one or two songs immediately following.
Please plan to arrive between 9:15-9:30 at the Peachtree Corners Town Center. We will sing at 10:00 and should be finished by 10:15.
Attire will be the Simpson Singers tshirt with black bottoms and comfortable shoes.
More details will follow; you can check out more information about the free festival here: https://www.peachtreecornersfestival.com/
For performances, students should wear their blue Simpson Singers t-shirt with black bottoms (pants, leggings, or skirts).
The black bottoms do not need to be dress pants, but they should be plain black without any athletic stripes.
Students should have comfortable shoes to wear for performances (any color). Sneakers are fine!
For safety reasons, flip flops or shoes with high heels are not allowed for any performances.
I will be placing the tshirt order immediately, but it will take a few days to reflect in My Payments Plus. I will let you know when this is available to pay - I expect the shirts to be no more than $8.40.
I am so excited to have each and every student, and I think that students will love sharing their voices in such a large and enthusiastic group!
With our very large group, behavior and attendance will be more important than ever for our successful learning and performances.
Students in Simpson Singers are expected to be leaders and models of our school norms (Respectful, Responsible, Ready, Safe, and Kind). Please be prepared to remind your students about these expectations.
Out of fairness to all students, students are asked to miss no more than 3 rehearsals. Ms. Curry will send a warning after two unexcused absences; please let Ms. Curry know via email or Parent Square in the event of an illness or other necessary absence.
To make this program a success, we kindly request parent volunteers to help with the arrival process. Your support is invaluable to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Rehearsal volunteers should be prepared to arrive at 7:30 so that students are not congregating in Simpson Square.
Please stay tuned for a sign up form where you can easily choose a date that suits your availability. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated!
