A critical component of PBIS is acknowledgement and recognition of positive student behaviors. OMS' PBIS program rewards students using three specific strategies:
Positive Behavior Points
Synergy Tickets
School Store
Positive Behavior Points - Students can earn positive behavior points from any of their classroom teachers, at the teachers discretion, as students exemplify positive behaviors in class. Students can accrue points over the course of the semester, and redeem these points at the school store or classroom stores, if teachers have them. Students and parents can check their positive behavior points balance in StudentVue and ParentVue located under MTSS.
Synergy Tickets - Students can earn synergy tickets by exhibiting positive behaviors throughout the building and on the school bus. OMS staff members who are not classroom teachers, including cafeteria staff members, custodians, office staff, and bus drivers will receive Synergy Tickets for the purpose for rewarding and acknowledging students. Students can take these tickets to any of their classroom teachers to have the points added to their MTSS positive behavior points account as described in the Positive Behavior Points section.
School Store - The OMS PBIS School Store will be run as an online store where students can redeem their earned positive behavior points for school supplies, snacks, and trinkets. Procedures for the school store will be communicated and posted in the coming weeks.
