Meet Ms. Durrence!

Ms. Olivia Durrence is the Orchestra Director at Lilburn Middle School. Ms. Durrence is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education. During her time as a student, Ms. Durrence served as the president of the American String Teachers Association Student Chapter, taught elementary students in String Project, and completed research on the correlation between music and second language acquisition. This research concluded with a research presentation at the 2026 GMEA In-Service Conference. Prior to teaching at Lilburn, Ms. Durrence has taught at Lanier High School, Brookwood High School, and was a lead teacher for the UGA String Project. While teaching at UGA, Ms. Durrence led the students in a performance at the GMEA In-Service Conference in 2025. Outside of teaching, Ms. Durrence loves to continue to perform on cello, read, train for half marathons, and cheer on the Dawgs and the Braves!
