FAQ

Q: What tests can my student take? A: Students at GSMST are only able to take AP tests for tests they are currently enrolled in. We do not allow retests, or tests from non-approved online programs. There are no exceptions to this rule except for AP German and AP Chinese that are taken by German 4 students and Chinese 4 students with a teacher recommendation.

Q: What happens if my student signs up for an AP test and eventually drops that class? A: Students are not able to take that AP test, and there will be a cancellation fee imposed by the College Board. There is one exception put in place for the College Board, and that is students who move from Calc BC to AB. That change can be made in January.

Q: My student paid for a test senior year, and now they have been accepted to a college that does not accept that credit. A: The student will still need to take that exam or pay the additional $40 fee if they opt not to take it.

Q: Do students have to take AP exams for classes they are enrolled? A: No, many students do not based on what colleges they hope to go to and how many credits they have already earned through the AP program. AP tests have no bearing on grades.
