Welcome back, Black Knights!
I hope you all had a terrific break. We are so very excited to begin the 25-26 school year.
While you were away for summer break, Central Gwinnett High School had paving work completed, including updates to the bus loop and parking areas, as well as the rear drive off Gwinnett Drive and associated parking areas, improving traffic flow and access for the school community.
This school year we are also looking forward to using the additional classroom space that we received with our new 4th floor expansion, completed earlier this year.
Also underway are several projects that will be completed in early fall of this year, including:
The replacement of the roof on the original fieldhouse. The old metal roof will be removed and replaced with a new metal roof, along with new copings and flashings, providing long-term durability and protection for the facility.
Renovations will be completed on the old fieldhouse interior, modernizing the girls’ and boys’ restrooms and locker rooms, a new dance competition room, and extending this building’s usefulness for future programs and student-athletes.
The softball press box and dugouts will be demolished and reconstructed with enhanced functionality and an improved overall look and feel to the softball complex.
These improvements, funded by E-SPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax), are part of our continued commitment to maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming facilities. We’re proud of the progress made and look forward to a strong year ahead. Go Black Knights!
As it pertains to beginning the school year, we have created a “one stop shop” for all things you may need to know to begin the school year successfully. Please take some time with your student to review the links embedded in this Google site, and you may also visit the website for more information regarding the beginning of the school. I am looking forward to beginning my 8th year as principal of my alma mater, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back into the building! Once a Black Knight, Always a Black Knight!
