The AP Exam is a Standardized Test that determines if a student has learned enough in order to receive college credit. This is scored 1 through 5 with the higher score being the best.
The AP World History: Modern Exam is a 4 part exam that takes place on May 8th, 2025. This consists of a Multiple Choice Section, Short Answer Questions, Document Based Question, and Long Essay Question that will determine whether or not you receive college credit.
Truthfully, this is the reason you are taking this class. By receiving a 3,4, or 5, you will be able to exempt out of this course in college which will either allow you to graduate faster or lighten the college load.
Students will have 55 minutes to answer 55 questions.
Every question will be tied to a “stimulus” or a source.
Students will have 40 minutes to answer three short answer questions with 3 parts each. Students are asked to use text, images, data, and other sources to answer questions 1 and 2 while students can choose between answering questions 3 and 4.
Students will have 60 minutes to answer a historical question while also analyzing and considering primary and secondary sources. 15 minutes will be used to analyze the documents and the next 45 minutes will be devoted to writing the essay.
Students will have 40 minutes to answer one long essay question in an essay format. Students must write a historically defensible essay between 3 potential prompts
60% of the AP Exam is writing, so we will do a lot of practice throughout the school year in order for you to be properly prepared for the exam. In all honestly, you will struggle at first, but you need to trust the process. Even if you don't want to write or feel like there's no hope, you need to dig deep and push on.
