Friendships that began at Francis Howell continued to be important to Joe. Trust is a word that Joe’s friends, family and work colleagues used to describe relationships with Joe. Joe knew that trust develops so that teams can work together to accomplish a goal. As an adult, Joe saw trust develop by listening carefully, thinking deeply about issues facing the team, and staying focused when things got complicated. At 37 years of age an infection in Joe’s heart caused his death. The Joe Curran Memorial Fund was established when Joe died and is paying for this scholarship to carry on Joe’s legacy of building trust.
