"He came in as a baritone player, who learned the trombone to play in the jazz band and the tuba for concert band. As a junior the jazz band needed a pianist, he said “I can do that.” In his senior year, he figured he hadn’t done enough, so he asked if he could learn to play the upright bass, and is now performing on the bass with two of the three concert bands. Drew Comparato lives for music. I think I can say that music is his life. He wants to pursue a career in music composition and as a solo musical artist. Drew is the only logical choice for the band department award." - Chris Miller
