Committees

If you are interested in getting involved in any of our committees, please contact one of the Band Booster Executive Board members.

SPIRIT

The spirit committee is designed to encourage our kids and band staff. The tasks include, but are not limited to, decorating lockers before contests, providing motivation, displaying senior banners for our senior members in the band and guard, making and displaying banners and signs for the band hallway and doors, and being a "cheerleader" in the stands of marching contests and helping other parents and fans understand the proper "fan etiquette."

The spirit committee is looking for creative and energetic individuals who love to pep up and spread positive attitude.

Food

The food committee is in charge of all things food! This involves planning, prepping, and serving food at camps, rehearsals, before and during contests, as well as having cold water, beverages, and snacks ready and available when needed. The committee also serves refreshments at various events, and asking for donations of water, sodas, snacks, and baked goods when needed. The food committee is one of the hardest working and most appreciated committees we have. Hard working teenagers are always hungry!

The food committee is looking for hard-working individuals who enjoy planning, preparing, and serving meals.

Publicity

This committee is responsible for contacting the local paper and radio station about upcoming band and guard events, such as fundraisers, concerts, and contests. These members are also in charge of distributing flyers and posters around town when necessary.

The publicity committee is looking for individuals who like to spread the word about all the great things the band and guard are doing!

Home Football Games Coordinator

This person is responsible for making sure our section of bleachers are clean so the uniforms do not get dirty or torn. This person also makes sure that students have water to drink after pregame.

Bus Chaperones

These individuals ride the buses to all contests and events throughout the year. These parents make sure that the first aid kits are stocked and make sure students are being safe and following the rules.

Chaperones are needed for all events. Parents who are on pit crew and prop crew will be given first opportunities during the marching band season.

Prop Crew

The prop crew designs and builds props and sets for the marching show as instructed by the director. They also prepare the props on contest day and move them on and off the field.

The prop crew needs individuals who can help build and/or people who can be present at all contests and home football games to move props and make sure the show runs smoothly.

Pit Crew

The pit crew is responsible for making sure all pit and drumline instruments are loaded into and unloaded from the trailer before and after each contest. The pit crew also helps move all pit equipment on and off the field during contests and home football games.

The pit crew needs individuals who can be present at all contests and are able to move (sometimes heavy) equipment on and off the football field.
