The Fine Arts programs at the junior high school level provide an important sense of belonging, promoting teamwork, as well as character-building traits such as discipline, collaboration, hard work, and responsibility.
We look forward to a new class of musicians every year and hope you will consider joining our award-winning Fayetteville Fine Arts program! Music is an important element of every student's education!
Beginning Band prepares students for participating in the award-winning FHS Band. Students will learn the basics of how to play and perform on a wind or percussion instrument.
Students will have the opportunity to start on flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, or percussion, with the option of changing to the saxophone, bassoon, horn, euphonium, or tuba at a later time.
The Woodland Band plays concerts throughout the year and participates in local competitions.
Students wishing to be part of the beginning band are encouraged to join in 7th grade as opportunities become more limited in future years.

7th Grade Choir is open to all students - no audition required this year!
Choir classes are separated by voice (Soprano/Alto and Tenor/Bass) and focus on the fundamentals of good choral musicianship.
Students learn to sing 1 and 2 part music in a variety of styles, and participate in at least two major performances each year.
The FPS choir program has a tradition of excellence. Each year our junior high choirs receive superior ratings at performance assessments and place many students in All-Region choir.
