HOSA is an international organization for future health professionals. Formerly known as Health Occupation Students of America, HOSA encourages its members to explore the medical field through:
Collaboration – Bringing the group together and enjoy our time as an organization.
Service Projects –Giving back to our community.
Professional Development – Increasing our knowledge, skills, and desire to become a Future Health Professional.
As a HOSA member, you will attend monthly meetings in Mrs. Gunter's classroom (OPL3A). Such meetings will vary depending on the month (see Get Involved). You will also get the chance to compete at the annual State Leadership Conference in March and possibly the International Leadership Conference. Competitive events test your knowledge of specific medical subtopics (see Guidelines). You will strive to become a better leader, collaborator, innovator, and learner. HOSA is the perfect way to not only scope out your future career, but it can help prepare yourself for life after high school. By surrounding yourself with people of similar interests, you are investing in your future.
