Emporia State has long been known as a trailblazer, especially in The Teachers College. Our college guarantees its teachers! The Teachers College has been preparing teachers since ESU’s inception in 1863. ESU's Pre-K through 12th grade teacher candidates gain hands-on experience in the classroom prior to graduation so they will be ready to enter the classroom. Emporia State is also home to the Kansas Masonic Literacy Center and National Teachers Hall of Fame.
