Themed Floor Communities

Our Themed Floor Communities (TFCs) foster connection, learning, and personal growth through intentional experiences and interactions. TFCs allow residents with similar interests or majors to integrate living and learning.

The TFC types that are listed on this page are potential communities for the Fall 2024-Spring 2025 semesters and included in the 1st part of the Fall 2024- Spring 2025 available starting Monday, October 2, 2023. TFCs types that we plan to offer for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters will be listed in the full application, which will open in early February 2024.

Themed Floor Communities Descriptions

Potential Communities for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Residents

TFCs offered for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters are based on interest collected in the first part of the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 housing application

Honors

The Honors community is connected to the Emporia State University Honors College. Activities on this floor will align with the mission of the Honors College and promote scholarship, service, adaptive leadership, and connection. Residents do not need to be members of the Honors College to participate.

Business

In collaboration with the School of Business, this dynamic community compliments the mission and curriculum of the School of Business. This is a great opportunity for students to connect with peers and resources while exploring careers in any realm of business.

Health Sciences

This new themed community is a great place for residents who have a shared passion and interest for careers in the health field. The community will offer experiences and resources that promote academic success, engagement, and connections.

Fine Arts

This community welcomes students with shared joy and experience with fine arts. Activities and resources for this community will be intentionally selected and tailored for residents with passion for fine arts.

Diversity

While we strive to foster diversity on all floor communities, this themed community allows residents to participate in deeper learning and engagement around diversity.

College Transition

This community supports all students, with a focus on first generation college students, as they live, learn, and grow together during their first year at ESU. Residents will gain strategies to manage the transition from high school to college, learn helpful academic skills, and gather information about campus resources. Professionals from the Student Advising Center work closely with our College Transition communities.

Education

This community is an exciting opportunity for residents interested in careers in the education field. The experience will offer activities that benefit future teachers and  build connections with others in the education field.
