Room selection will occur virtually through your ResLife portal (where you completed your housing application)
Questions on the day of room selection? Residential Life will be open and have staff available to answer questions!

Who can I be eligible for this round of room selection? Complete your housing application by Friday, June 28th at noon.
Final Room Selection Times:
Monday, July 1st from noon to 6pm
Tuesday, July 2nd from noon to 6pm
How to Access Room SELECTION
Room Selection will take place virtually, in your housing application.
Go to Hornet 365 Student
Click ResLife Portal in the list of icons (you may need to scroll down a bit)
Log in with your ESU username and password
Click Apply Here! on the top menu bar
Click to Continue the August 2024 to May 2025 application
Travel to the Contract Submitted page
Click save and continue at the bottom of the page
After clicking save and continue on the Contract Submitted page you will see available rooms. Once your room assignment is complete, you will get a confirmation email and see the confirmation page in the ResLife Portal.
Prep for Room Selection
Ensure your log-in information is accurate and working! - We highly recommend that all students practice logging into the ResLife Portal before Saturday, June 8th. Use the steps below to sign in:
Go to Hornet 365 Student
Click ResLife Portal in the list of icons (you may need to scroll down a bit)
Log in with your ESU username and password

Make a good plan! - We anticipate that some buildings and/or room types will fill up. We recommend all students have a plan b if their first choice is not available. We have published our community types and floor plans on this page to assist in the planning process.
Example: You and your roommate are interested in a double room in Trusler that faces Welch Stadium. If that is not available, what will you look for next?
It's also good to plan out how you will pick your room.
Example: Your room selection begins at 10:30 am on June 8th. On the morning of June 8th, you charge your computer and have a list of room types and buildings you're looking for.
Example: Your roommate is traveling on June 8th and will not have reliable internet. Before June 8th, you plan out what room options you will look for and then make a plan to text them the room assignment after it's completed.
Check your application status - Students with a completed housing application on or before June 1st will be eligible for room selection. To check your application status, go to the Sign into the ResLife Portal and then click Check Application Status on the top menu bar.

How long do I have to make my selection? Room selection will be available on Monday, July 1st, and Tusday, July 2nd from noon to 6pm daily. A student with a completed housing application can log into their ResLife Portal on either day from noon to 6 pm to make their room assignment.
Example: I have a summer job and work on July 1st from noon to 4pm. I plan to log in after work and before 6 pm to make my room selection.
Oops! I made a mistake in my room selection! Can I make a change? To make a change, contact the Residential Life Main Office at 620-341-5264 our staff will talk you through the options available.
My preferences have changed, but I didn't edit my application. What options will I have? It is not required that housing app preferences match a room assignment. Students will see all available rooms at the time of their selection, regardless of their preferences. Any room listed will be available for room assignment.
