Submissions

Quiviria is produced annually and features work by currently enrolled ESU students. It is edited and produced by students with the help of ESU Creative Writing faculty and staff. 

We practice blind judging, meaning when you send in your work our staff will remove or hide your name before it is read by a panel of judges to help us ensure that pieces are judged fairly, and to reduce the chances of favoritism or bias. Pieces are judged on the strength of the piece alone. 

Guidelines for submissions

1. Quivira accepts:

   1. • Poetry

      • Fiction

      • Short plays (10 minutes or less)

      • Flash/Micro Fiction

      • Creative Non-Fiction

      • Art

      • Photography

2. Work must be by currently enrolled students, but is open to students of every major and year, whether you're an undecided Freshman or getting your Masters in Biology.

3. You may submit as many pieces as you like, however please do not submit pieces longer than 15 pages. 

4. Our preffered formats:

   1. • Text submissions: .docx, .doc (Please do not submit Google Docs, links, or PDFs)

      • Art/Photo submissions: .jpeg, .pdf, .eps

        • • • 300 dpi or better
