Emporia State University's Creative Writing Club
"Are you interested in creative writing? Have you had fun writing poetry or stories in the past? Would you like to join a community of writers? Come to the first meeting of the year for Quivira, ESU's longest-running club on campus! Meet fellow writers, learn about service opportunities, take part in fun writing activities, and find out how you can be a part of the oldest student publication west of the Mississippi River!"
Quivira Literary Society is a recognized student organization (RSO) at Emporia State University. We're one of ESU's oldest clubs, and open to all ESU students of every major. If you love to write, we'd love to have you!
In addition to sharing and strengthening our writing, we sponsor literary readings open to students and the public, promote literary activities on campus and in the community, and help the journal staff of the Quivira Literary Journal by promoting and assisting with the publication of their annual journal.
Quivira is a student literary journal. That means we publish work by current ESU students, regardless of year or major. Quivira is the longest-running student journal west of the Mississippi.
We're always on the lookout for new poetry, fiction, plays, photos, and art to publish in the next issue. Note, you do not need to be a member of the Quivira Creative Writing Club (RSO) to be considered for publication in our literary journal.
If you want to gain publishing experience or are interested in submitting your work, send an email to quivira@emporia.edu.
