About Me

I'm an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Emporia State University. My teaching interests include cognitive psychology, social psychology, research methods/statistics, and legal/forensic psychology. My research interests revolve around memory and metacognition — especially applied to the legal system. I work to answer questions like:

  • How can we best interview crime witnesses and victims? Especially if they are vulnerable (e.g., not fluent English speakers)?

  • How do witnesses assess their own memories before/while making identifications?

  • How do we evaluate and process shared information that is likely false?
