Welcome!
I'm glad you're here!
This is where you can find out about my research, the classes I teach, the students I mentor, and our graduate program in educational psychology.
I'm the PI for the SMILE Lab - Studying Motivation In Learning Environments. I am fascinated by the intersection of motivation and education. I study teachers, preservice teachers, and students. While I study teachers and students from preschool to college, as you can see in the picture above, I am especially interested in improving education for young children.
I am a big supporter of open educational resources, and I share some of my own experiences with OER and resources that I have created which are CC licensed and freely available.
I'm a former K-12 regular education, special education teacher, and Montessori teacher. These practical and applied experiences inform my research and my teaching today.
