Highlights. In 2019, 46.1 % of the EU population lived in flats, more than one third (34.8 %) lived in detached houses and almost one fifth (18.5 %) lived in semi-detached or terraced houses. 17.1 % of the EU population lived in overcrowded households in 2019.
