Abstract:
The goals of this hands-on AI-supported writing workshop are: (1) to learn about structure of a research paper, (2) to learn about how to optimize your prompt to tailor it to your field, and (3) to develop the skills to critically evaluate outputs generated by an AI tool for research publication purposes. The workshop begins with a lecture on the Move-Step framework which is used to effectively organize the structure and language of research papers. Then, we introduce prompt engineering strategies that integrate the Move-Step framework to tailor your writing and revising to your own research field. This prompt will be used for you to write and revise your research paper with the use of ChatGPT. You will be guided to practice how to critically evaluate its output.
