Dr. Naomi Shimpo, Associate Professor at Center for Spatial Information Science, The University of Tokyo. She majored in landscape planning and ecology and gained her PhD at the University of Tokyo. She also studied at Vienna University of Technology in Austria as exchange student and did some researches at Lincoln University in New Zealand as visiting scholar. After working at University of Tsukuba as assistant professor, she moved to University of Hyogo. Her main research interests lie in functions of urban gardening related to diverse societal and environmental challenges such as social cohesion, disaster recovery and climate change.
