Book Trailers

Book trailers are a great way to get students excited about reading. By sharing what they read, they also make a better connection with the book. Below are some methods you may want your students to use to create book trailers.

Animoto- An easy and fun way to create videos. RCMS has 10 student accounts for use in the classroom. Ask your DLS.

Canva- Teachers can create a free education account and allow students to join a class through an invite code. Directions on how to create a book report using Canva. Students should be able to log in using Google account.

IMovie-Students who own an Iphone or Ipad may already have access to this software and know how to use it.

PowerPoint-Here are some great examples of book trailers using PowerPoint.

Microsoft Sway- This free tool is like a PowerPoint combined with Illustrator. You can easily add images, videos, audio, and text in a nice presentation format. Open Office 365 and choose Sway to get started.

PowToon- I love PowToon for many projects. Students can create free accounts by clicking here. There is a template for book reports if they want to use it. Here is the example.

Voicethread- This is a great way to get students to participate in a presentation. One of the options is to let people comment which can be turned off if desired. Students sign in through the SSO using Google account.
