Wildcat Digital Learning Cafe'

My name is Lori Berney, and I am the Digital Learning Specialist, also known as a digital learning coach for Guyer High School and Nelson Elementary.  Before I became an DLS, I taught PreAP Biology, AVID Chemistry, PreAP Chemistry, and AVID.  I grew up in a small town called Lufkin in East Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a medical emphasis.  I love working with people, serving others, and desire to make a positive impact within the school and community.  My role as a DLS is to empower teachers to maximize the effective use of technology in the daily learning process.  I work with teachers in one-on-one, small group, and campus wide settings.  While I provide on-campus training, I also work as part of the Digital Learning Department to create how-to resources, host webinars, and help organize and provide district wide training opportunities.  Also, I am a proud liason/coach of the Guyer Esports Teams.  With the support from our district and campus, our esports program is strong and has made its presence known in the world of competitive HS Esports, received scholarship offers for our players, and are on the radar of many colleges and universities with esports programs.
