Guyer High School

My name is Lori Berney, and I am an Aquatics Science and Biology Educator for Guyer High School. I am also the Guyer Esports Coordinator/Coach and the Guyer Student Council Sponsor.  Over the course of 20 years, I have been a digital learning specialist, a PreAP Biology teacher, AVID Chemistry teacher, PreAP Chemistry teacher, and an AVID teacher.  I grew up in a small town called Lufkin in East Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a medical emphasis.  I am currently working on my master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership virtually through Lamar University.   I love working with people, serving others, and desire to make a positive impact within the school and community.  

One of the things I enjoy is working with the talented students in our esports program.  With the support from our district and campus, our esports program is strong and has made its presence known in the world of competitive HS Esports, received scholarship offers for our players, and are on the radar of many colleges and universities with esports programs.  

Something else I enjoy, is working with our outstanding Student Council at Guyer HS.  The students who make up our student council are the best of the best!  This amazing group of students demonstrate every day what it means to be a Guyer Wildcat!  Their dedication to the culture and climate of our school is immeasurable and I am so proud to be the sponsor for this group of students.
