About the Director

My name is Chris Taylor and I am the theatre arts director at McMath Middle School. I started teaching at McMath in 2011 and am happy to continue the tradition of excellence that McMath has become known for in the district.

I started out in theatre when I was 5 and have continued to work, first as an actor and later as a director and theatre creative through high school, college and grad school. I have performed and directed for a number of companies in the DFW area and in 2008 worked on a production that was performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with TWU. In 2010 I directed an original production that was performed at the Out of the Loop Festival in Addison, TX. In June 2012, my writing partners and I had the debut workshop performance of our original musical AS WE LIE STILL at The Margo Jones Theatre in Dallas.

I am currently working with Spiderweb Salon, Denton Area Running Club and the Denton Performance Lab in various capacities and live in Denton.
