Goal:
To build student ownership, academic growth, and relational capacity through structured routines that promote reflection, support, and school-wide consistency.Weekly Viper U Schedule 8:15–8:47
Mondays – SMART Goals & Reflection
Students will:
Log into their digital planner (located in RMS Hub) or hardcopy planner and write a SMART goal for the week.
Share their planner with their Viper U teacher
Reflect on the previous week’s goal and progress
Celebrate effort and achievement
Goals can be academic or personal, but must be specific and actionable. Students should identify what they will do to meet their goal.
Teachers will:
Use provided SMART Goal resources See Viper U in RMS Hub for more resources.
Conference with students to guide goal-setting and follow-up
Celebrate student effort and consistency
Check that binders are organized; Along with checking binders, check backpacks for loose papers not in binder
Remind students of upcoming school events so they can write them in their planners
Tuesdays–Thursdays – Intervention & Enrichment
Students will:
Work on targeted practice using IXL Study Plans and teacher-provided materials
Request tutoring or finish missing assignments or homework
Check HAC for subject specific grades and/or missing assignments
Focus Areas:
Tuesday & Wednesday – Math
Edpuzzle or Canvas work or Quizziz
Thursday – Reading/Language Arts
NoRedInk or Quizziz
Students not listed for intervention may engage in self-directed enrichment.
Special Note: Math Targeted Viper U
6th-grade math students without documented supports (IEP, 504, etc.), 7th- and 8th-grade students whose schedules did not include all intervention, will receive daily math intervention (Monday–Thursday).
Focus: Building prerequisite skills to close learning gaps
Teachers will monitor and track progress using IXL, classroom assessments, and MAP data
Teachers will:
Group and monitor students using provided data
Celebrate small wins and encourage academic ownership
Fridays – Fun Friday
Use this time for games, SEL activities, connection, team-building, or positive incentives
Celebrate students and build relationships
Ask your team or admin if you need ideas or resources
Viper U Staff Commitments
All staff actively participate in Viper U every day
Each Viper U teacher is responsible for all students on their roster
Students must check in with their Viper U teacher before going to another class for tutorials or make ups, etc. with a pass
Students may not leave a Viper U room to go to another without prior adult-to-adult communication and approval
Example: tutoring with a pass and teacher email or phone call notification
Students must have a pass to leave your classroom during Viper U for any reason
No going to restroom first and last 10 minutes of class
