The top ensemble at Myers Middle School is the Wind Ensemble. It is comprised of students representing all instruments in the band program. The band is made up of 7th and 8th grade students by audition only. The Wind Ensemble participates in all public concerts, pep rallies, district ensemble contest and various concert band competitions throughout the spring semester. Members of the Wind Ensemble also participate in individual events throughout the year including All-Region Auditions, solo contest and various other activities throughout the year. Students are highly encouraged to participate in private lessons, which are critical to the success of the program.

The second performing ensemble at Myers Middle School is the Symphonic Band. It is comprised of students representing all instruments in the band program. The band is made up of 7th and 8th grade students by audition only. Symphonic Band participates in all concerts and various concert band competitions throughout the spring semester. Members of the Symphonic Band are also encouraged to participate in individual events throughout the year including solo contest participation, and various other activities throughout the year. Students are highly encouraged to participate in private lessons, which are critical to the success of the program.

The Beginner Band is comprised of students that do not have prior experience on a wind or percussion instrument. All students receive instruction on fundamental tone, rhythmic concepts, and basic reading music skills. Students are taught in like-instrument classes throughout the school day. No musical experience is necessary. Beginner Band students may participate in solo & ensemble contest, Winter & Spring Concerts, and one concert band competition during the spring semester. Students are highly encouraged to participate in private lessons, which are critical to the success of the program.

Jazz Band is a specialized ensemble that focuses on introducing participating students to the Jazz style. The ensemble is comprised of students who have at least 1 year of band experience. All students participating in Jazz Band are required to be enrolled in one of the concert bands during the same participating semester. Exceptions may be made, at the discretion of the directors, for instruments that are not taught in beginning band (guitar, bass, and piano). The Jazz Band participates in various public concerts and competitions throughout the year.
