Special Area Grading System: Report Cards – What do the grades mean?
Your child earns a letter grade of 4, 3, 2, or 1 in their Art, Music, and Physical Education classes. We base our grading system off of the TEKS, learning and curriculum standards set by the state of Texas.

One more thing to keep in mind…
Denton ISD utilizes Parent Connection for electronic grade reporting. While this is an excellent tool to communicate student grades to our parents, the software program is not really designed for our letter grading system. The program will only accept entries on a 100 point scale system. Our elementary curriculum, fine arts, and physical education departments have set fair consistent guidelines for determining this numeric input.
