Class Dojo
Behavior Management and Communication Tool
- My classroom will be making use of a program called Class Dojo for behavior management instead of the color coded pocket charts many of you may be used to. Each student will have their own Dojo character which will be assigned bubble points for both positive and negative behaviors. These points will be totaled at the end of the day for an over all daily balance.
- Though this may sound similar to many other systems, Class Dojo provides several advantages over many of the other standard behavior management systems in the following ways:
- The +/- point system provides a way to track all behaviors without being limited to a 3 or 4 card system.
- The +/- point system creates an environment in which having a single incident does not follow the student throughout the day. The many positive things throughout the day will be logged as well, which means that a student can still end the day on a positive note instead of coming home with a note about the single issue from the day.
- Class Dojo tracks each students progress which allows the teacher to target specific behaviors that need changing as well as highlighting student strengths.
- Every parent will be given a code that will allow them to log into the Class Dojo website and have access to their child's behavior chart at any time.
- Please take a minute to look at the links below for more information on how Class Dojo works! If you have any questions or concerns about Class Dojo or it's use in my classroom, feel free to contact me. I will be more than happy to talk about it with you!
