1.   This is my 17th year in teaching.  I have taught 4th grade, 3rd grade and 2nd.    Seeing and being part of the connections and growth children make is one of the most rewarding opportunities.  I am thankful to have been given this opportunity! 

2.  I have been married for  28 years to my wonderful  husband and best friend, Stephen.  

3.  We  have two grown children ages 22 and 18 who both attended all their elementary years at Hawk.   It's a wonderful place that builds strong and successful learners!

4.  I graduated from University of North Texas with Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Specialization in Reading.  

5.  I was born in Prague;  the capital city of the Czech Republic.  My parents immigrated to the United States when I was 8 years old.   I first learned to speak the English language when attending public school in the United States.   The love and warmth of my teachers in the states is what later inspired my teaching career.

6.   I am fluent in both the Czech and English language and as a child was also fluent in the German language. 

7.   Some of my favorite treats  are Mexican food, Peanut M&M’s, Jelly Belly jelly beans,  half sweet tea, Dr. Pepper. 

8.  I enjoy shopping at Target,  TJ Max,  Amazon,  getting a pedicure and getting a treat at Starbucks!  

9.  In my spare time,  I enjoy exercising,  taking our dogs for walks, swimming, spending time outdoors, reading,  crafting,  time with my family and being at the beach!  

10.    I am gluten free (no so fun) but am finding more more yummy treats and food to enjoy.
