Hello Tiger Band Family and welcome back to “A New Beginning!!!” Mrs. Gaskill and I hope you’ve had a great summer with lots of time to reboot and prepare for the 2021-2022 school year. Be sure to ask Mrs. Gaskill about her awesome adventure at Disney World and me about the SHARKS AT SOUTH PADRE ISLAND!!! Thank goodness that we are both back safe and sound!!

We had great success and achieved high levels of learning during the 20-21 school year and proved that we can’t be held back by anything. This year is our renaissance--The Tiger Band New Beginning, and we’re ready to blow the roof off everything we’ve done before!! We will start and proceed this year, as we have in years past, with lots of hard work and positivity. We will continue to set and achieve lofty goals and set the standard for class and manners. We are looking forward to everyone participating in full effect and moving our band program to our highest levels of kindness, compassion and competition.

We hope that we will be able to continue this year face to face, i.e. “business as usual” but are prepared to do whatever it takes to teach and learn, no matter our circumstances. Although at this time masks aren’t required, we will have playing masks available for anyone who wants one. I highly recommend using them for everyone’s safety. We know for a fact that they reduce aerosolized microdroplets and help prevent the spread of Covid. We will also space out as far as possible during rehearsals to help prevent sharing microdroplets. We will continue to use our air filters, humidifier, and disinfect the room at the end of each day. Mrs. Gaskill and I are dedicated to not only educate but provide a safe learning environment for everyone.

The McMath Tiger Band Program has always been, and will continue to be, a positive, accepting, welcoming, and safe learning environment for students, parents, and staff. We will continue this tradition and achieve the highest level of performance and interaction available to us, while setting the standard for kindness, compassion, grace and manners. We are so very excited to get started and ready to have our kids back in the band hall.

For the first day, we would like the returning students to bring their instruments, beginner band books, pencil, and paper. Beginning Band students, come ready to learn armed with paper and a pencil! We will hash out instruments for you within the first week.\

Sooooooooooo…..WELCOME BACK AND LET’S GET BUSY!!!

Mr. Harris & Mrs. Gaskill
