Audio/Video Production Instructor
With a background in media and a passion for fostering creative talent, Tai Tran serves as the Audio/Video Production instructor at LaGrone Academy in Denton ISD. His journey into media began at a young age in Frisco, Texas, where he developed a love for storytelling and visual communication.
Tran graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in converged broadcast media. During his senior year of high school, Tran started freelancing with the Dallas Cowboys. He gained valuable experience while working multiple positions, such as camera, replay, video/shading, technical directing and directing. Tran joined KXAS (NBC 5) while in college as a production assistant, where he was able to learn more about studio production, producing and the day-to-day operations of a newsroom.
Outside of his teaching profession, Tran enjoys playing and coaching volleyball. This past season, he took his 14U boys team to the AAU National Championship in Orlando and finished fifth in the Premiere division. He also loves to spend time with his two dogs, Tyler and Brexley.
As an educator, Tran is deeply committed to guiding his students toward achieving their aspirations, aiming to cultivate creative thinking and innovation. His goal is to inspire and guide students to realize their full potential. He believes in providing practical, real-world experience to prepare students for success in the media industry. With a blend of professional experience and a dedication to mentorship, Tran hopes to shape the next generation of media professionals.
