2021 Yearbook to Include Graduation

Yearbook staff plans inclusive book covering Spring Break '20, all of 2020-2021

Before Covid-19 had ever entered our minds, the yearbook staff worked each year to create the most inclusive DHS yearbook ever. And until this year, they have included more students in the book, and made a yearbook that more and more students wanted, all while keeping the Back-to-School price at $65 (when purchased in August and Early September).

Late last spring, when every single copy of the yearbook sold and distributed to parents and students from a building that stood empty since Spring Break, we knew that no matter what this school year looked like, on campus or at home, the 2021 yearbook must contain absolutely everything good and positive from the year, in one volume.

After students missed out on school, their friends and the activities they craved, we realized the goal for this yearbook would be to tell stories from the whole year – starting where we left off last spring, and ending after graduation this May.

It is in that same manner of celebrating and remembering Denton High students and their resilience, strength and spirit, that the yearbook staff and I, with the support of our administration, made the difficult decision to delay delivery of the yearbook until after school is out. This means that we do not have a specific delivery date yet.

There will still be a yearbook, and the delivery date change is only for this school year. But rather than cutting coverage off at Spring Break, we will actually be able to photograph spring sports, include activities, and interview those new to DHS students who might otherwise miss being in the yearbook.

This also allows us to freeze the current $80 price well into May, and open back up the sales window for those who want to buy a yearbook, but might need to budget for it. This will apply to both online credit card/debit card/PayPal/e-Check orders through Jostens, http://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A08199500, as well as in-school orders using cash, check or the layaway plan ($20 non-refundable deposit with flexible payment dates and amounts – contact Mrs. Frey for more information).

Thank you again for sharing encouragement, support and most of all, your stories with us. Without your memories and milestones – there would be no need for the yearbook.
