Hello Blanton Family,
It's so great to be the music teacher here at Blanton Elementary. I'm so proud of the work that I've done these past 6 years and I hope to continue being a positive influence and making a difference in young people's lives.
Here are a few things about myself
I graduated with my Bachelor of Music with education certificate at UT Arlington
I love music and I started playing cello when I was 12 years old. The biggest person that made an impact in my life was my cello teacher who gave me private lessons for free. I hope to make a difference in someone's life by inspiring them to be a musician and pursue music.
I love the ocarina. It's made a huge impact in my life. I am passionate about promoting the instrument in the US. I have been in charge of organizing the 7th US Ocarina festival in addition to also composing the Ocarina March two years in a row. I also performed as a guest with Ocabanda in Seattle, WA (the US's first ocarina septet since the 1950's).
I love teaching Ocarina and Squire choir
In short, I love what I do. If you have any questions or want to reach out please feel free to e-mail me at nmiranda@dentonisd.org
