My name is Zachary Dalton, and I will be your 3rd grade literacy teacher this school year! I have been in education for 3 years and this will be my second year in 3rd grade. I have experience teaching math, science, social studies and in special education as a paraprofessional. Recently, I earned my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and my Master's in Leadership. I have a passion for teaching and more importantly, seeing students grow!

In  my personal life, I have a wonderful son who will be in kindergarten (Ryan) and my partner (Scott) who is at Sandbrock Elementary. We love all things outside and enjoy spending time with family. We recently purchased our first home and are soo excited to be closer to the UP community!

My teaching philosophy relies solely on community meaning we all have a place in the development of our students. From the bus driver, cafeteria worker, administration, teachers and parents, we all add value to a child's life. Community involvement from each member contributes to the success of our students, and is integral for both emotional and educational growth. Learning starts at home, and together we can collaborate to meet your child's needs. Please, I believe in transparent communication and sharing each success and growth with you and if there is success at home I would love to hear about it. Together we can ensure your student's have a wonderful year.
