Midterm Information

This project will help us to accomplish a number of things while keeping the process for you as simple as possible:

• We will be able to measure your vocal growth as an individual singer in a way that will allow us to determine how to adjust the focus of our classes to best support your continual growth and help us to decide your ensemble placement for next school year
• It will allow YOU to give input on what choirs you are interested in, the time commitment you are able and willing to make, and what goals you may have moving forward in the program
• This will also serve as a major assessment for this 6 weeks, and it will be graded

• Most importantly, It will guide us with what you are thinking as far as number of ensembles you want to be in, how much time you have to give, and overall commitment to the program.
• It helps us assess your vocal growth and capabilities in areas like sight reading, musical ability, etc., but the audition process is continuous throughout your time in the choir program
  • We look at reliability, commitment to ensembles (rehearsals, attitudes, etc.), leadership roles you are in, participation in Region and 9/10 honor choir auditions, solo and ensemble, volunteering to help with choir events, etc.
• It will serve as the initial musical auditions for Vivace, Respira, and Madrigals and will impact your placement in those ensembles
