FAQ: (Frequently Asked Questions)
Hotel Rooms:
Kids will be in a room of 5 students (two queen beds per room plus a pull-out sleeper sofa).
Most parent chaperones will be rooming with one other adult unless they paid extra for the Adult Single Package (This incurs an extra cost per person).
Adult rooms will be located near the student rooms, with boys and girls on separate floors, although we won’t know the specific layout of rooms until we get to the hotel.
Room Assignments will be made in January.
Buses:
Each 56-passenger charter bus will need between 6-8 chaperones riding on it.
We are planning to take at least four buses to Dallas, splitting them between band, choir, and orchestra.
If you already know that you will be driving separately as a chaperone, please let Mr. Hargreaves know as it will give us some flexibility with seat assignments.
Bus seating assignments will be made in January.
Chaperone Responsibilities:
to simply be another set of adult eyes and ears throughout the trip, watching for potential trouble and being available in case a student needs something. (You will NOT be assigned a specific set of kids to watch.)
help with loading and unloading the buses (primarily at the school, performance site, hotel, and then when we get back home).
help with attendance checks whenever we get back on the bus
eyes and ears at Buc-ee’s
eyes and ears at Alley Cats
room check in the hotel on Friday night (check that everyone is in the room, share reminders about wake up and breakfast time, then let the kids know it's lights out time.)
Saturday morning knock on doors, wake up call / room-check, and room-packing instructions
eyes and ears at Six Flags
and most importantly… having fun and enjoying the trip! 😃
